Early Warning & Response
Early Warning and Response is at the heart of our work at WANEP-Ghana. Under this, we seek to strengthen the use of early warning data to improve response to conflicts. We have dedicated team, time, resources and tools for tracking and reporting on different incidents across the country daily. Our pool of trained and experienced monitors across Ghana track incidents and input them into an early warning data-based system. These incidents are collated and analyzed and processed into information for diverse stakeholders’ use.
Our early warning data-based system currently tracks incidents that relate to the following thematic subjects:
- Organized crime and violent extremism
- Gender, peace, and security
- Democracy and governance and
- Environmental security
The data assists our network members across the country, public institutions, and civil society organizations to respond to incidents in a coordinated manner.
