In February 2023, WANEP National Early Warning System (NEWS) recorded 178 human security incidents[1]. This resulted in 54 fatalities (49 males, 5 females) and 64 injuries (12 males, 12 females and 40 inconclusive).[2] Data collected on incidents that occurred in the country in February 2023 indicates the Northern region emerged as the region with a significant frequency of 80 incidents, made up of outbreak of measles (70) cases.[3] The Greater Accra region followed with 32 incidents, the Ashanti region with 17 incidents, the Central region with 14, the Eastern region with 10 and all other regions recording less than 10 incidents.[4]
