Sylvanus Agordoh

March 28, 2021 Our Staff

Sylvanus Agordoh is the National Early Warning System Officer at the West Africa Network for Peacebuilding-Ghana Secretariat. He is in charge of Ghana’s component of

WANEP, ECOWAS, and the AU’s early warning systems and therefore monitors issues related to human security in Ghana.

Sylvanus holds a Bachelor of Arts in Integrated Community Development from the University for Development Studies, Wa Campus. He also holds a Master of Science degree in Defense and International Politics from the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff (GAFCSC) where he was awarded the second-best-written dissertation. His dissertation was written on Terrorism, Emerging Terrorist Hubs, and Its Security Implications in West Africa.

Sylvanus has studied French at the basic education level, Senior High School, and university level of which he holds an attestation certificate from the University for Development Studies.

Sylvanus has training in Peace Support Operations from the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College as well as Human Rights Training from the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Center (KAIPTC).

He studied CompTIA A+ and CompTIA N+ (hardware and networking) at the National Institute of Information Technology (NIIT) now called OpenLabs. Aside from this, he does a lot of online studies on the use of software applications, cyber security, graphic design, website development, and database management. All of these abilities, he believes, enable him to be the best he can be in his organization.

Sylvanus loves to write and share ideas on general issues. He loves creativity, and he is the kind of person who doesn’t limit himself to the constraints of just one particular medium or endeavor. For the most part, he is self-taught; preferring to allow his inner muse to guide him, he has learned a lot through trial and error, learning from his mistakes each time. He is driven by his love for aviation, music, IT, and photography.
