In February 2022, the WANEP National Early Warning System (NEWS) recorded 105 human security incidents. The incidents resulted in 43 fatalities and 76 injuries. The fatalities recorded involved 21 males and 15 females and 7 other deaths of which the gender was unclear from reports.
